Pet Food Assistance Program

Animal Hospital of North Asheville donated over 350 pounds of food to ACN after a highly successful online pet food drive!

We understand that unexpected things happen in life and sometimes you might need a little help feeding your pet until things get better. Our hearts also go out to those of you who are not well and unable to shop for the pet supplies you need. ACN partners with 9 food banks, pantries and agencies to get free pet food into your hands. Please see below for the agency that is the best fit for your needs:

Wanting to DONATE Pet Food and Supplies to ACN's Foster and/or Pet Food Assistance Program?

We gladly accept and appreciate donations of pet food, kitty litter and supplies and will get it where it needs to go.  We especially need the following:

  • Adult Dog Food (dry and canned)
  • Adult Cat Food (dry and canned)
  • Kitten and Puppy Food (dry and canned)
  • Scoopable Kitty Litter
  • Large heavy duty Ziploc bags (1 gallon, 2 gallon or 3 gallon big bags) for repacking food.

"On behalf of Foster Community Service, I want to thank ACN for the pet food donations to our food pantry. We see over 100 clients weekly and the pet owners are so happy and grateful to receive food for their pets. I know many clients will feed their pets their own food if they can't afford pet food; they've actually told me they will share their food with their pets.

Pets are such an important part of our lives and I believe having to give a beloved dog or cat away due to a lack of resources would be devastating.

Thank you again for all your organization does for the animals in our community."
