ACN E-Newsletter: December 17, 2008
Dear Animal Compassion Networkers
I hope you all are enjoying this holiday season. I know all of my two- and four-legged kids are busily sniffing around my Christmas tree, hopefully just snooping and not for any other reason! Keep your eye on the mail. The Winter 2008 issue of Caring, the ACN newsletter, will be arriving shortly with all the happy news of the year. (If you just can't wait to read it, it's available here.)
The results are in and congratulations are in order! We raised over $16,000 at Taste of Compassion 2008, $13,000 of which is pure profit thanks to our outstanding sponsors! Many, many pets will get a second chance thanks to your wine orders, silent auction donations, bids and attendance. It speaks to your tremendous support of us that we managed to have our best event to date in the midst of these difficult economic times.
I hope you will join us for the ACN Annual General Membership Meeting and Holiday Party tomorrow night, December 18. It's a casual and fun pot luck dinner, a little end-of-the-year business voting in a new board, and a whole lot of fun with fellow animal lovers! Please rsvp to Krista Luck at lovescotties3@yahoo.com and she'll send directions to the party (this year at a generous volunteer's beautiful Victorian home.)
And don't forget that this Saturday, December 20, is our Annual Prestige Subaru Adoption Event at the dealership! (No dog adoption event at Pet Harmony or PETsMART this one Saturday only.) Prestige is donating $100 to ACN for every vehicle sold on that day, so if you or a friend have been thinking about a new car, this is the best day to buy! We still need some volunteers to help with set up, dog walking, cat care, screening and break down. If you can help us, please email our Asst Volunteer Coordinator, Trina Rhyne, at tbjack71@msn.com.
Next Tuesday, December 23, give yourself a well-deserved break by having dinner at O'Natural's Cafe from 4-8p and they will donate 10% to ACN! We'll also have an information table and delightful volunteers to answer all of your questions. Still stuck on those last-minute holiday gifts?
