Kuma the 100th dog adoption from Pet Harmony
Kuma
Great news - Pet Harmony, ACN's pet store for rescued pets, has just adopted out our 100th animal! Kuma was one of a litter of six belonging to his Doberman mom. We believe Kuma's dad is a Newfoundland, but a few of his littermates were sired by a Weimaraner. (This phenomenon of the dog world has always fascinated and freaked me out a little.) Kuma was only two weeks old when his mom and siblings were turned in at the local shelter, but a dedicated ACN volunteer was following the case and let ACN know that they needed us. Kuma found a home with two Mission Hospital employees who report that he's happily settling in and bringing them great joy. Pet Harmony is doing exactly what we had hoped it would - giving traditional pet stores and their puppy mill pets a run for their money! (Kuma still has 3 more littermates available for adoption!)

As many of you know, we are also pulling dozens of shelter cats for the Pet Harmony habitats. Mozart, one of our favorites, is a purebreed Maine Coon who found his forever home last week with a person who cherishes him and doesn't care one bit what his pedigree is. She just loves the big guy! Please help us spread the word that all ages, sizes and temperaments of rescued cats and dogs  - purebreed and mixed breed - are available for adoption at Pet Harmony. Friends can't be bought, but they can be rescued!

We are happy to announce that Pet Harmony now has a full line of natural supplements for your pet's health. Please read on for an important health tip from Linda, our resident expert on natural pet health! See you at Pet Harmony!

Tuning Into Your Pets Nutritional Needs

Changes in your pet’s behavior, appearance, and body functions are clues that something is not right.

Signs to look for:
  • Dull, flaky, smelly coat
  • Runny, bloodshot eyes
  • Low energy, sleeping more than usual
  • Appetite change- eating more or less
  • Gaining or losing weight
  • Loose stool-or constipation

Most or all of these conditions can signal a deficiency inyour pet’s diet. You can remedy this by feeding a high-quality, human-grade pet food and addingnutritional supplements.

Essential fatty acids such as flaxseed or fish oil will help a dry flaky coat and itchy, stinky skin.

Digestive enzymes and probiotics help the digestivesystem with absorption of nutrients and keep a healthy digestive system.

Kelp or sea vegetation helps boost the immune system, improve hair growth and color, and stop dogs from chewing their feet.

Be  sure to have your pet checked by your vet at least once a year for a complete physical examination.

Pet Harmony has all the necessary supplements and the best foods to ensure a healthy, happy pet! Come see me for the health of your pet.
